This is a handmade, wheel thrown, pottery bowl with an oak leaf imprint. A real oak leaf from a beautiful oak tree in my front yard is pressed into the wet clay and then burns off in the kiln firing, leaving the imprint of the leaf in the clay. This bowl was made using a brown stoneware clay.
The glaze is a glossy blue green and the leaf is finished in an oxide wash and left unglazed. The oxide wash shows the veins in the leaf beautifully.
This bowl is approx. 7" wide x 2 1/2" deep.
